Visiting a buddy out here and he took me out to dinner at Poterhouse and I was not disappointed. I got the porterhouse and it was cooked to perfection great beers from the local brewery. The girls working the bar were friendly and helpful (and not to bad to look at).
Good food usually. Finally ordered the ribs and was very disappointed. Great ribs covered in that longhorn bbq sauce. Come on guys.... get some real sauce. I'll get a steak next time for sure. No bread either...
It is such a popular place in town that a couple of times we have been there, the service was a little slow. But we know that the food will totally make up for it and it never disappoints. Highly recommend for a date night.
Our server was very good. The french fries were way over cooked. The batter on the fish and chips was overcooked. The hamburger was overcooked. In fact the bottom of it was almost charred. Nevertheless it was a pleasant lunch with family. I couldn't say we go out just for the food anyway. The center-cut sirloin was small but well-cooked.
Heard good comments about this restaurant, so today was our first visit there. Atmosphere was fine. Decent menu varieties, but not so many that kitchen would have trouble with complexity. Smart. Ordered a Turkey Club sandwich. Very good; excellent bacon quality and that carried most of the flavor which I liked. My wife ordered a Cobb Salad. Bad salad. Avocado was half black and half of the greens were partly brown. Chicken in it was apparently cooked the day before - dry; no taste. Waitress forgot the bread stick. Wife sent it back because of the avocado. Took 10+ minutes for kitchen to fix it, which they really didn't anyway. Wife, "got through it." Waitress gave us free desert for the problem we had. Wife chose cheesecake. Very good. I got the day's special, strawberry shortcake. Interesting: 2 strawberries sliced and a dribble of strawberry juice. Big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of what I thought was shortcake. Whipped cream over everything. "Shortcake," turned out to be a big, thick Snicker doodle cookie! Talk about sugar hit. I scrapped the cookie, ate the ice cream and 2 strawberries. I'd skip that one next time. I think this is a, "Trucker's," steak and potatoes restaurant. Maybe they do fine on that. Obviously the kitchen has never heard of salads and tried to guess how to do one. I'd never set that salad we got in front of anyone.
